Alan Akaka is from a family whose roots are deep in Hawaiian music. He is a talented performer and instructor and we are extremely fortunate that he is able to return year after year to Aloha Music Camp.
A specialist and master of Hawaiian steel guitar, Alan has created his own sound and style, incorporating styles from the past masters of steel with whom he studied. Alan is also a recording artist and leader of “The Islanders”, and he also travels throughout the world as an entertainer and guest soloist, perpetuating Hawaiian music while stimulating renewed interest in the unique, lilting sound of the steel guitar.
