Pricing, Registration, and Payment Information
Introduction
Mohala Hou Foundation has as its mission the perpetuation of Hawaiian culture in all its aspects, particularly through education in Hawaiian music and cultural arts. Your attendance at Camp helps us to fulfill that mission – and we all have great fun together while doing so!
Three Registration Types: Camper, Companion, and Keiki
The Camper full rate includes all instruction, concerts, talk-stories, and other events during the week of Camp.
The Companion non-instructional adult rate requires an accompanying full Camper registration. It includes the same items as the Camper rate, but does not include any instruction. It’s a great way to have a vacation, get caught up on some reading, or take time out by the beach, and then enjoy AMC meal times, concerts, and other group events together!
The Keiki rate includes the same items the adult full Camper rate, but is for children 12 and under. So bring those budding ʻukulele players and hula dancers to Camp and let them get educated while having fun at the same time!
Camp Registration Rates for AMC 2024 (includes meals)
- Camper 2024 full rate: $2,650 per person
- Companion Partner or Spouse, 2024 non-instructional rate: $1650
- Keiki (Child 12 and under), full rate: $800
Meals During Camp
All registrations include all meals during Camp (breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily), as well as the special “Lūʻau Night” on Thursday including entertainment. Meals are included beginning with dinner Sunday, and continue through breakfast on Saturday.
Payments
We have two basic options for AMC 2024: (1) pay in full at registration; or (2) pay half up-front at registration with the balance due by January 15th, 2024.
Refunds
If AMC 2024 has to be cancelled because of Hawaiʻi State, County, or other government regulations, or curtailment of transportation (i.e., if the Governor restricts inbound travel or decrees intolerable size limits on public gatherings), we will obtain a complete refund from the hotel and then refund your tuition in full.
If you cancel by December 1, 2023, you will get a full refund.
If you cancel between 2 December 2023 and 15 January 2024, you can get a partial refund. The refund will be whatever you paid in, less $650 per Full Camper and less $450 per Companion.
Due to our arrangements with the hotel, we are unable to offer refunds after January 15th, 2024. If there are extenuating circumstances, please Contact Us.
Full refunds are available anytime for Keiki registrations.
For ʻukulele building, we can offer full refunds up to January 15th, 2024. After that point, we can only refund a Camper for ʻukulele building if we are able to fill the slot.
If you do cancel your AMC 2024 attendance, you can have us apply your refund to tuition for a later Camp.
Please note that this policy refers only to AMC fees, not to your room arrangements with the hotel.

Please make a note of the following important dates relating to your Camp Registration.
Important Payment Dates Table | |

Dec 1, 2023 | last day to request full refunds |
Jan 15, 2024 | deadline for full payment of balance on all registrations; deadline for partial refunds |

Payment Methods
We prefer simple online payments by credit or debit card through our safe and secure payment processor, Stripe. If you absolutely need to pay by check, please contact our Registrar via our Contact Us form to make arrangements. Please keep in mind that if Camp is near to selling out, an online credit card payment will ensure your spot immediately and is much faster than a check.
Assistance With Registration
If you need assistance with registration, please contact our Registrar by using the Contact Us form. We encourage you to try using our fast new online registration system first, however. Response times for assisted registration can be up to 48 hours.
Craft Classes
Classes such as ʻukulele building and hula implement making will require a fee for the materials. Fees are payable using our online registration system.
ʻUkulele Building for 2024
The ʻukulele building class is available on a limited first-come, first-served basis for six Campers this year and requires a materials fee of $500. ʻUkulele building is open to Campers aged 12 and up with priority given to those Campers who have never taken a class from Dennis before.
When you register for Camp, you will be able to request a place in the class. Our registration staff will contact you via email and/or by phone you to let you know the status of your request.
This year’s ʻukulele will be a concert scale small body made from gorgeous curly koa wood along with an abalone rosette, quality tuning machines, and a case.
Please see the Instrument Building page for more information.
Hotel Information for AMC 2024
Your Hotel Stay
We will return to the beautiful Outrigger Kona Resort in Keauhou, Kona, on Hawaiʻi island (“Big Island”) for Aloha Music Camp 2024. Choose from either a Resort View room or an Ocean View room with island-inspired décor and furnished lānai overlooking Keauhou Bay, lava cliffs, mountains, and beautifully landscaped grounds. We have worked hard with the folks at the Outrigger Kona Resort to keep prices as low as possible for Aloha Music Camp 2024.
Please note that your hotel stay is not included in the above Camper, Companion, or Keiki registrations. Be sure to book your room as soon as possible after registration because they sell out fast; also be sure to mention that you are with Aloha Music Camp and you want our special “Group Rate”.
Hotel Rates
We have negotiated the following AMC Group Rate for lodging at the Outrigger Kona Resort on Hawaiʻi Island, subject to availability.
- Resort View Room @ $239/night (plus taxes)
- Ocean View Room @ $299/night (plus taxes)
- Parking @ $10/day
- Resort Fees are waived for AMC, but we get all of the resort package amenities.
Please visit our Hotel Bookings and Pricing page for more complete information.
COVID-19 Statement
All attendees must be fully vaccinated to participate. Proof of vaccination will be required when you pick up your registration materials at Camp.
We will follow County of Hawaiʻi, State of Hawaiʻi, and CDC guidance with respect to social distancing, masks, and sizes for indoor and outdoor gatherings. Since we are still months away from Camp, we can’t yet say specifically how various Camp activities will be impacted. Our first and foremost priority is to keep everybody safe and healthy. We will offer additional information as it becomes available.
There is a very slight chance that AMC 2024 may be cancelled if restrictions imposed by the State and/or County of Hawaiʻi, or in air travel make it impossible to hold Camp. As stated above in the “Refunds” section, if Camp is cancelled due to “impossibility” before Camp starts, MHF will refund your Camp registration payment(s) in full.
Registration
Registration will begin for Aloha Music Camp 2024 on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 9:00 am Hawaiian Standard Time.
Please find the Registration Form on the CAMP REGISTRATION PAGE. We look forward to seeing you at Camp in April 2024!
