ʻUkulele & Steel Guitar Building
Dennis was building violins and banjos when he discovered Keola Beamer and slack key guitar music in Ann Arbor, MI, in the 90’s. In 2001, he attended Aloha Music Camp as a student and moved to Hawaiʻi. After refining his craft locally, Dennis was invited by Keola to be an instructor at Aloha Music Camp.
When not teaching the art of being a luthier, Dennis designs and constructs his renowed slack key guitars and ‘ukulele in his new workshop in California. Both Keola and Kaliko use and adore his fine instruments.
We are fortunate indeed to have Dennis return year after year to Aloha Music Camp. His sessions are so popular that we encourage any of those wishing to make an instrument to contact the staff at Aloha Music Camp early to secure a spot in his limited-space instrument building classes.
